Abstract :
The need to improve the communicative competence in higher vocational colleges and meet the demands in service industry has brought about new vision and vitality in English education. For illustration, the researcher used two experimental classes to show the vocational influence in communicative development. Empirical results show that English and vocational integration takes many forms, but applied English is the most prominent within vocational colleges. The communicative approach associated with multidisciplinary courses, linked or cluster courses is effective. Barriers to integration are pervasive, and they are often linked to the long-standing separation of vocational from academic education. The combination of English and vocational knowledge has effectively helped the students to produce instance of language use in their life and work. During the implementation, it was important to choose update materials in real work settings. This project is helpful for English teaching in higher vocational education.
