Unloading bulk cement ships

The vacuum unloading system for the Tampa, Florida cement plant is described, and its operation and maintenance are discussed. It is concluded that the vacuum unloading system is a sound concept and, with the proper sizing of equipment and arrangement of facilities, can accomplish all that is needed in a ship unloading system. Environmentally, it has met the rigid requirements at Tampa, which was a major consideration in the selection of a system.
