  • Abstract
According to characteristics of Huaihe River Basin and the relevant economic theories of cost-benefit analysis, there are four assessment methods applied in this paper, including "shadow price method", "cost-saving method", "voluntary payment method" and "national investment method". Through social sample surveys of weather forecast demand for the public, we utilized those four methods to quantitatively evaluate the public meteorological services benefit of the four provinces in Huaihe River Basin and made a comparative analysis for these results. This study has a certain reference value and could raise people\´s awareness of public weather services, thus facilitating the assessment of the benefits of meteorological services.
