Abstract
The design of a routing protocol for the provision of quality of service (QoS) in a mobile ad hoc network is a challenging task. In this paper, we propose a routing protocol that tries to satisfy QoS requirements in terms of bandwidth and end-to-end delays of a flow of packets in a time division multiple access (TDMA) based ad hoc network. Our protocol tries to identify a path that avoids hidden terminal and exposed terminal problems. In addition to that, our protocol tries to maximize the throughput of the network by minimizing the contention delays. We have carried out simulations to study the performance of our protocol. The proposed protocol performs better in terms of QoS satisfaction ratio and throughput as compared to the existing protocols.
