Abstract :
The goal of Avionics Modernization Programs (AMP) is to provide a flexible platform that is maintainable and expandable to meet mission requirements of today with defined growth paths to future requirements while maintaining low acquisition and ownership costs. The open architecture and modular construction of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) provides this path and capability to meet both current radio communications requirements and growth capability needs. The JTRS is defined in terms of its hardware and software architecture. This paper addresses the hardware architecture
