Abstract :
In this paper, a modern control strategy is applied to the synchronous generator output voltage control. Before implementing this control strategy, a special method of the machine modelling is given. This last one allows to perform tests such as short-circuit, load impact and shedding test, in an easier way than the models usually developed in the literature. In spite of the difficulty due to the control design procedure, a dynamic controller which is simple to implement and gives satisfactory results, has been found. The Simulations made on Matlab/Simulinktrade allow ones to conclude that the method is interesting and a real time application becomes easier to achieved due to the order of the obtained dynamic controller.
