Abstract :
A new control concept called active disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) is proposed for the drive system of rolling mill in order to achieve the vibration suppression and the disturbance rejection. It is based on a unique active disturbance rejection control technology, when the disturbance is estimated using an extended states observer (ESO) and compensated for the dynamic change in the system. ADRC is designed without an explicit mathematical model of the plant. Hence the controller is inherently robust against plant variations. The improvement in steady state error is also quite evident. ADRC is compared with the PI controller and the state feedback controller. Its validity and superiority are demonstrated in simulation.
