Abstract
This paper presents a new method for searching of violin modes with the use of Fourier transform and recorded chromatic scales. The method is based on the presence of modal frequencies in the spectrum of violin sound. The algorithm was tested on the recordings of the instruments taking part in the 10th International Henryk Wieniawski violin making competition [7].
