Abstract :
Health care is a progressively growing industry which encompasses very large volumes of data from hospitals, laboratories and clinics. The privacy of patients and the security of all these sensitive clinical data must be protected from unauthorized individuals.Herein a new clinical messaging system is introduced and different methods are explored in order to enforce security for electronic clinical data. Access to sensitive information is allowed only to authorized users, who can view the clinical data that is being passed and stored within the information system. The National Health System (NHS) of the UK is taken as a paradigm and the health care information system for secure clinical messaging is examined in the case of the NHS.
