Abstract :
In the last period a dynamic and accentuated development of the embedded systems takes place. More and more embedded systems can be found. The connection of the embedded systems in networks became a necessity. The connection can be with or without physical wires. The ad-hoc networks are a special category of wireless networks. In their classical form they do not have an infrastructure, all the nodes are mobile and do not have any predetermined roles. In this paper a new ad hoc network structure, called Hierarchical Ad Hoc Network, is described. It consists in a server from which different users can access mobile nodes through a level of partially mobile nodes (base stations) connected to Internet. Each mobile node is in the coverage area of a base station. The topology of the proposed ad hoc network is continuously modified because any node can leave the coverage area of a base station and enter the coverage area of another base station. An application is described consisting in a Hierarchical Ad Hoc Network for sending messages by different users to one, part or all of mobile devices from a delimited space.
