A short note on the centroid of an interval type-2 fuzzy set

Karnik-Mendel algorithms always present two independent procedures for computing the generalized centroid of an interval type-2 fuzzy set: the first one for computing its left part (which is denoted by c_l), and the second one for computing its right part (which is denoted by c_r). This paper presents a simple discussion where we show that the calculation of c_l and c_r is really the same problem and not two different problems.
