Abstract
Karnik-Mendel algorithms always present two independent procedures for computing the generalized centroid of an interval type-2 fuzzy set: the first one for computing its left part (which is denoted by cl), and the second one for computing its right part (which is denoted by cr). This paper presents a simple discussion where we show that the calculation of cl and cr is really the same problem and not two different problems.
