Abstract :
Chaos concepts formulated in a discrete form were applied to examine instability conditions in a current mode PWM boost converter under open and closed outer-loop conditions. A simple expression for the maximum duty cycle for subharmonic-free operation was developed and applied to asses the effects of the outer loop on subharmonic oscillations in the converter under study.
