Abstract :
Presents three protocols for atomically broadcasting updates to the global state of a highly available service implemented by a team of replicated processes. The protocols are designed for asynchronous systems where no upper bounds exist on message transmission and process scheduling delays. The authors let correct team members that have achieved timely communication in the recent past form dynamic communication groups and they discuss the problem of maintaining consistency of replicated data inside each group as well as across groups
