Abstract
Paper concerns the variable speed drive with the nonlinear speed controller and the estimator of the electromechanical subsystem. The new speed controller enables the time minimal speed control without overshoot. The nonlinear characteristic of speed controller is derived with use of dynamic programming approach. The relatively simple microprocessor realization of speed controller is presented. From the laboratory investigations results that speed can be controlled with use of one switching process of converter supplying DC motor and without overshoot.
