Abstract
In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to detect and isolate a faulty current sensor in current controlled PWM controllers. The FDI approach is simple and does not require complex equations implementation as in parity space or observer theory. However, a self reconfigurable method is deduced such that the system continues working safety. The proposed method is tested with a three-phase four pole induction motor. A field programmable gate array (FPGA) device is used for performing the digital control and the implementation of the FDI algorithm. The validity of the proposed method is shown through simulation results and experimentation.
