Abstract :
We address the problem of designing a coded modulation scheme for the fading channel when space diversity is used. We focus on the fact that a channel affected by fading can be asymptotically turned into an additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel by increasing the number of diversity branches, thus turning coded-modulation schemes designed for the AWGN channel into efficient codes over the fading channel
