Abstract :
The paper presents some possible arrangements of electronic converters oriented to the on board regulation of batteries´ charge in small vehicles motorised by linear induction machines. The convenience is shown of adopting an on board wound secondary translator and a long stator motor with the aim of traction and contact-less charging system, during the steering operations. Furthermore, the modification of translator current by proper electronic converters allows a speed regulation too according the mechanical characteristic of thrust in different conditions of batteries´ charge. For the different analysed arrangements the mechanical characteristics are compared and discussed in order to obtain suitable suggestions for the choice of traction drive
