Abstract :
The main topic of this work is a simulation program which is able to simulate the dynamic behavior of systems described by sets of state-space equations in Matlab. For the dynamic simulation, two or more describing systems of differential equations have to be established according to the different states of the desired model. As an example, a modified "boost"-type DC-to-DC converter circuit with a tapped inductor is used. The two main states of the circuit are selected by turning the active switch on or off, respectively. Other states are activated in special situations, e.g. at negative or too large flux values. For a simulation of the converter structure in real situations, the program enables one to simulate steps of the load resistances, the duty ratio, the desired output voltage etc. Additionally, the program is tested with a lead-lag controller, and the performance of the modeled circuit with and without the controller is simulated.
