Abstract :
The size and capacity of cement grinding mills have continued to increase. Mills that required more than 12,000 horsepower were typically not driven by girth gear systems due to capacity constraints in manufacture. The authors describe how, today, the manufacturing constraints have changed substantiality and given operators another more cost competitive option to consider
