Abstract :
A numerical ocean forecast system has been assembled and applied to several semi-enclosed basins. The modelling system includes a numerical model of ocean circulation, a data assimilation scheme, real-time meteorological forecasts, and data bases of in situ temperature observations and sea-surface temperatures inferred from satellites. Forecast results for the Red Sea are shown
