Abstract :
A novel wide air-gap permanent magnet(PM) motor for low-noise water-pump is designed, whose rotor magnetic pole adopts Halbach array. Based on the character of this motor, finite-element method(FEM) is introduced to analyze its electromagnetic field distribution, and its air-gap induction, as well as its no-load back-EMF is calculated, considering skewed slot stator and the relative motion between stator and rotor. Corresponding experiments on the motor is carried out. The calculating and experimental results indicate that the designed motor has low harmonics, high efficiency and power factor.
