  • Abstract
The paper describes modern, global trends in education, training and knowledge transfer. Particular attention is paid to the education in transport logistics, which was one of the research topics of EU funded eLOGMAR-M project. The paper is an outcome of a comprehensive research study performed within the framework of the project. The study focused on the general conditions accompanying the education activities, challenges which modern education has to face and possible solutions to the surmounting problems and barriers. Basing on the detailed analysis of the existing courses provided in the area of transport logistics and maritime logistics, offered in particular by the universities, international organisations and commercial companies a sample curriculum is proposed. Also more general conclusions from the state of the art are drawn and recommendations for future developments are presented
