Abstract :
We have described a high optical power transmitter suitable for applications in harsh environments that require data modulation rates of up to 10 Gbps and modulated optical output power up to 25 mW. The compact package format enables size reductions for free space laser communications and antenna remoting terminals. High efficiency operation at lower optical power will provide DC power savings for digital transmission.
