Abstract :
This paper presents a novel Web Service-based approach to visualizing data from engineering fields. It will change the traditional mode, which makes use of local resources or single resource, into distributed visualization mode in order to implement the share and collaboration of computing resources, memory resources and data resources in heterogeneous environment. The possibilities and performance of the approach are analyzed. The process for visualizing engineering data, which is based on the Web Service, is discussed, and the design and implementation of the Web Services are explored. Finally, as a case study, the approach is evaluated by visualizing the data from ANSYS.
