  • Abstract
The design of a high density connector for high speed applications requires a multi-disciplined approach combining mechanical, material and electromagnetic engineering principles and design considerations. Present day connector design requires sophisticated resources in computer aided design, concurrent engineering and electromagnetic modelling and simulation in order to meet the time and cost objectives of an increasingly demanding market. This paper focuses on the essential need and use of a number of these modern day tools both in the design, implementation as well as the proper application of the final product
