Abstract :
This paper describes a power electronic resonant circuit to control a switched reluctance motor (SRM) for propulsion of an electric vehicle. The proposed control involves six SCR thyristors and an IGBT in a C-dump type circuit to provide a low cost, reliable, lightweight and highly efficient vehicle propulsion system. Simulation results are included to show the detailed voltage and current waveforms applied to the motor windings
