Abstract
Spectroradiometers are important tools used in the study of the optical properties of the ocean and in the validation of satellite ocean color sensors. The authors discuss a new development of a fast scanning high resolution spectroradiometer capable of measurement of UV-B and visible spectral regions. The instrument characteristics closely match the requirements necessary for sea truth validation of the new Seawifs ocean color sensor. Surface reflectance spectra measured by the instrument are presented and discussed
