Abstract
Single carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) is used as a multiple access scheme for the uplink in fourth generation long term evaluation (LTE) technology. It requires the subcarriers allocated to a single user to be contiguous to preserve the PAPR property. Optimal scheduling strategy in uplink is full search space algorithm, which includes searching for the best among all the possible combinations of scheduling. However, this method suffer from high computational complexity. In this paper, a utility based scheduling algorithm having similar performance compared to full search space scheduling algorithm, with significantly less computational complexity is proposed.
