Abstract :
Afghan Technical Consultants (ATC) is a demining NGO, which controls approximately 20% of the program´s overall mine clearance resources, 2/3 of its battlefield clearance resources and 100% of its explosive ordnance or EOD resources. Working in the most mine-contaminated areas of Kabul, ATC has often pioneered and developed new techniques, which have been further, tested and adopted by the other NGOs in MAPA (Mine Action Program for Afghanistan). The author describes some of ATC´s experiences in the use and development of equipment and techniques as faced in its operations in Afghanistan
