Abstract
Known microstrip antennas, called as patch antennas (PA) have the radiating structure represented by conductive patch on a dielectric base located above flat conductive screen. Dimensions of the PA to be selected cannot be smaller than a specific value limited by radiation and matching conditions. Sectioned microstrip (patch) antennas (SPA) contain several topologically separated sections having the same or almost the same dimensions. Such construction makes it possible to significantly reduce dimensions of the structure and to obtain both linear and rotating polarization of the radiation field. Consideration is given to equivalent circuits, matching methods and construction of SPA having two, three and four sections.
