Abstract :
Proportional plus derivative controller suffers from non-zero steady-state error due to no integral element. Meanwhile, ignoring ripple in the design process weakens the steady-state performance for switching dc-dc converters. In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed and studied to realize zero steady-state error for proportional plus derivative controller. The proposed algorithm also eliminates the negative function of ignoring ripple. The sources of steady-state error under the control of proportional plus derivative are analyzed. Simulation results are provided to verify the validity of the algorithm.
