Abstract :
In the area of epidemiological transition in India, the morbidity and mortality of cancer tends to increase, being accepted as a burning health problem. Almost 50% of the cancer cases can be cured and the curing rate can be increased if the people are aware about cancer and familiar about the root causes of the cancer. Not only doctors but other professionals, researchers, decision makers and even every Indian can work to eradicate cancer from India. Decision making in cancer control and awareness can be viewed at an individual level for groups of patients, or also at a macro-level, for health policy. This paper discusses the use of multi-criteria futuristic decision making (MCFDM) methodology for developing priorities and scenarios of cancer awareness. The proposed methodology is a systematic futuristic priority ranking approach that uses future-scan management tools and the latest multi-criteria decision making mathematical model. This research study help in increasing the provision for cancer awareness and will highlight the specific factors which are the root causes of cancer. This approach has been programmed into a criteria expert, a computerised implementation of the MCFDM approach. The eigenvalue of the objectives of this research study will help in deriving a ranking of criteria and objectives for cancer awareness and control
