Abstract :
A novel technique of beam injection into the linac accelerating section of a racetrack microtron is considered. The essence of the technique consists of injection from the outer area of the microtron into the area of the coinciding orbits of the first end magnet in such a way that the trajectory of the injected beam has the form of an intersecting loop. The application of this technique will presumably expand the possibilities of construction of racetrack microtrons simplify the injection system, and facilitate the tuning of the beam injection
