Title :
An analysis of film on CD ROM and the Waikato Polytechnic Information Kiosk
Author_Institution :
Dept. of Inf. Technol., Waikato Univ., Hamilton, New Zealand
Abstract :
The article explores the potential for CD ROM with the New Zealand short film `Mirage´ in terms of some of the strategies that have been developed in film criticism. This is not a definitive reading of the film but offers the user a deeper insight and shows the possibilities of this medium as a fresh approach in the way information is presented to assist in the education process. Interactive multimedia kiosks are becoming very popular in educational institutions and public facilities as a method of finding information. The paper also looks at a kiosk developed for The Waikato Polytechnic Marketing Section
