Abstract
State space averaging (SSA) techniques for the analysis of periodically switched networks have already been proposed, under the assumption that the switching frequency is much higher than the highest natural frequencies of the network. The paper shows how a power circuit average model can be derived automatically using the bond graph and the Petri Network techniques. The method is applied to a classical buck converter (using ideal or accurate models of the power semiconductor devices), and to a zero voltage switching quasi-resonant boost converter
