Abstract :
In this paper, the shunt compensation of reactive power is investigated. The compensation is based on the FBD-method. In this method the current of the shunt compensator causes a situation that the load plus compensator ideally appear as a pure resistive load on the grid. There are some stability problems in the grid, if the compensator compensates a generating load. The presented analytical analysis of stability has shown under which circumstances the grid with the compensated generating load is stable. The presented simulation and experimental results confirm the analytical investigations
