Abstract
Manufacturing execution system (MES) is a computer application system that integrates all relevant real-time information along every step in a manufacturing process. Therefore, MES is essential for manufacturers for gathering real-time production line information, supporting manufacturing decision making and increasing manufacturing efficiency. In this paper, the functional modules and data schema for MES are investigated initially. And then, multi-dimensional data model and snowflake schema for MES data warehouse are constructed. On-line analytical processing (OLAP) cubes are designed for later implementation. The implementation case uses these cubes for analyzing equipment performance, WIP and quality, such as equipment MTBF, MTTR, operation cycle time, hold reason and hold quantity. Finally, some concluding remarks are made. The results of this research also provides a reference model for enterprises when MES is evaluated as a to be system
