Abstract :
A new wireless channel access protocol is proposed accommodating multiple access points (APs) and those nodes not directly accessible from any AP by introducing relaying capability. Hitherto, a scheme was proposed to deal with the similar situations, assuming a HiperLan/2. Here, we propose a two-hop wireless channel access protocol assuming a point coordination function (PCF) of an IEEE802.11 infrastructure mode and confirm that the throughput is improved by the use of busy tone signaling.
