Abstract :
The surface potential relaxation of free surface of polyvinylidenefluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer films which were corona-charged with different metal-dielectric interface conditions particularly in the case of Se sublayer between an electrode and a sample surface is studied. The experimental results are interpreted from the point of view of improving the stability of the electret state of PVDF films for the purpose of the use of that material as an element of energy-independent memory cells or xerographic layers. It is shown that the charge relaxation in PVDF in relatively strong fields is monitored by Schottky emission from the opposite electrode
