Abstract :
The electric charge distribution in the fluoroethylene-propylene copolymer (FEP or FEP-Teflon) Induced by a partially penetrating electron beam has been probed using the thermal pulse (TP) method. Deconvolution of TP transients clearly indicate that negative charge has accumulated at a mean depth dependent on the energy of the electrons in the beam. Good agreement between measured and computer-generated TP transients is obtained by using model distributions with positive near-surface charge layers in addition to the negative implanted charge layer
