Abstract
Single to three phase converters are readily available, however, the proposed converter allows for output voltage regulation. The convertor utilises a three phase transformer in conjunction with a reduced size inverter. The converter is particularly suitable for rural electrification, with the transformer performing the dual role of stepping down the voltage as well as being an integral part in the single to three phase conversion. It is shown how balanced regulated three phase can be achieved and therefore improve quality of supply
