  • Abstract
    In this paper, we propose an efficient layered coding scheme for multimedia broadcasting and multicasting services (MBMS), where the satellite and complementary ground components (CGC) cooperate to provide high quality services. In the proposed scheme, we utilize a layered turbo coding scheme, in order to adapt to the channel condition at the receiver. The receiver selects the optimum demodulation and decoding scheme to achieve the required performance with the maximum computational efficiency.
