Abstract :
E-learning systems and the application of emerging digital technologies has received wide acceptance all over the world. There are many e-learning systems used in many academic and educational institutions like: Moodle, WebCT, Eduwave, and Renzoli. Some are commercial and some are open source (Ryan et al. 2000). The development of common ethical standards in e-learning environment can support the growth of online education and training. Even those e-learning systems which have widely been used in many universities, but it come with some important issues that have to be tackled [1]. Ethical standardization is an example of these issues, failing to develop ethical standards and procedures in e-learning environment may minimize the effectiveness of e-learning implementations in academic institutions and therefore decrease the value perception of these systems. The main aim of this paper is to work in students´ data as part of the privacy ethical issue to propose ethical standards that can protect these data. Establishing common ethical standards in e-learning environment can help in enhancing the effectiveness of these systems.
