Abstract :
As a serve to China national strategy, the Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers is a pilot reform initiative in Chinese higher education which is comprehensive, innovative and unprecedented. This Plan is a national action which mainly puts forward five key tasks. The critical task among them is to establish a new joint mechanism of talent training for universities and industry enterprises. This joint mechanism includes multi-agent coordination mechanism in government, participatory guidance mechanism in industry, joint training mechanism in university-industry collaboration and practice training system supported by policies. The purposes of the task are to bridge the gap of supply-demand to enhance the adaptability of engineering talent training and to promote the partnership between university and industry. This paper discusses the above content with focuses on the program progresses, impacts, criterion, outcomes and problems.
