Abstract :
This paper presents the MATLAB simulation of a synchronous generator for wind energy generation. Park´s equations for a synchronous generator in rotor reference frame are modified to independently account for any Skin-effect on the d-axis and the q axis. The proposed skin-effect model is used to compare with the conventional model. The error involved underscores the need for the analysis, especially in wind energy generation where intermittent load variations call for the exact dynamic behavior of the system.
