Abstract :
This paper presents a new design of compact dual-band annular-ring slot antenna for 2.4/5GHz WLAN applications. The radiating elements of the proposed antenna are composed of three concentric annular-ring slots, operating at 2.4GHz ISM band and 5GHz UNII and ISM bands. The proposed antenna has a compact size (30mm×30mm×1.6mm) and can be integrated with other RF front-end circuits conveniently. Studies on the impedance and radiation pattern of the proposed antenna demonstrate that it can completely cover the required bandwidths of IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards with satisfactory radiation characteristics.
