Abstract
Regenerative energy systems are confronted with increasing demands for power quality and fail-safe operation at grid voltage failures. Grid codes currently demand for fault ride-through (FRT) capability up to 15% retaining voltage and support of the grid voltage by supplying reactive current until fault clearance. The paper discusses and compares different FRT strategies, their capabilities to fulfill the codes and their impact on turbine performance
