Abstract :
The paper introduces an innovative implementation of dynamic hard disk power management based on renewal theory, from the system model construction, relative knowledge on renew theory, to how to integrate both to achieve PM (power management) optimization. It also presents an experiment performed on a physical hard disk to demonstrate the feasibility of the implementation for the purpose of energy-consumption saving on hard disk.
