Abstract :
An approach to automatic analysis of written French texts is described. The aim was to design an automatic documentation information system. The system is based on a linguistic model for the recognition of a written text. The authors discuss text processing and describe the effectiveness of other approaches at the user/system interface to ease access. Many ambiguities in texts are due to the use of classical methods of computing. The authors propose the use of natural language processing using the contribution of non-classical logics (intensional, fuzzy, multivalued). Documentary automation is blocked by the problem of indexing and interrogation due to the constant updating of the input information which remains static once in the database. Logico-semantic analysis is necessary for the analysis of the value of words in texts, and for the analysis of the value of signs in texts and of their connections to other elements in the text
