Abstract :
This paper outlines the steps taken by the Engineering and Design Area within the Xerox Supplies Business Unit in the evolution of it´s environmental policy for toner container supplies. Xerox´s aim is to be the benchmark for environmental initiatives in the office equipment market. In order to accomplish this, a broad, multi-faceted approach with a dedicated team was employed, with both long and short term objectives. The outcome of this work, aimed at meeting customer requirements, is a set of environmental initiatives which reduce the use of virgin material, promote the use of recycled material, and provide an alternative to landfilling empty containers
